Freightliner to Include a Year of Sirius in New Trucks
Freightliner LLC said Friday that its trucks equipped with a factory-installed Delphi stereo system and Sirius Satellite Radio tuner would receive one free year of Sirius service.The company said in a statement the offer would be available for vehicles built after Feb. 1.
Meanwhile, Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. said it would double subscribers this year after ending 2004 with 1.14 million, Bloomberg reported. Transport Topics
TRW to Supply Eaton With Radar Systems
Heavy-duty components manufacturer Eaton Corp. said Jan. 6 it entered into a long-term agreement to have Autocruise S.A., a subsidiary of TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., supply radar technology for its Vorad collision warning systems.The radar would operate at 76 to 77 GHz, allowing access to European and other markets that deploy the same radar frequency.
Eaton said it had sold a total of 50,000 systems in the U.S. of an earlier Vorad product that used a wavelength of 24.725 GHz. Roger Gilroy
