irva Inc. said Thursday it has appointed John Miller chairman of its board.

Miller, a member of Sirva’s board since Dec. 1, currently serves on the board’s audit committee.

He was previously with Standard Oil Co., serving as president, chief operating officer and a member of that firm’s board. He also was formerly chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

Sirva — parent of Allied Van Lines, North American Van Lines, Global Van Lines and other companies — is ranked No. 18 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
