Pacer International Promotes Two Executives

Shurstad Becomes President; Finkbiner to Head Stacktrain Unit

ransportation and third-party logistics firm Pacer International said Thursday it had promoted Tom Shurstad to be its new president.

The company also named Thomas Finkbiner to be president of Pacer Stacktrain, its wholesale intermodal transportation service provider. Both appointments were effective Thursday.

Shurstad, who most recently was president of Pacer Stacktrain, will have executive responsibility for all of Pacer International's activities.



In a statement, Pacer’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Don Orris described said the appointment as a “logical step in the maturation of Pacer's management team that will strengthen the leadership of the company.”

Finkbiner was most recently chief executive officer of tank truck carrier Quality Distribution, from which he resigned last June. (Click here for previous coverage.)

He resigned from the Pacer’s board of directors to accept the new position.

Pacer is ranked No. 16 the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
