Oil was trading below $74 a barrel early Monday, near its lowest level in two weeks, on concerns that a slowing economy could hurt demand, Bloomberg reported.
Crude futures for October delivery slipped to $73.59 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Bloomberg said.
Oil fell almost $3 last week on the Nymex. The October delivery contract expires Tuesday.
The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline pump prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
