New Ramp at Northern Virginia Interchange Set to Open Thursday
new ramp linking the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 with the inner loop of the Capital Beltway is set to open early Thursday morning, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.
The new ramp, the last major bridge of the Springfield interchange project, will allow motorists headed towards Tyson’s Corner to exit Interstate 95 half a mile before the current split, the Post said.
The redesign of the Mixing Bowl, where Interstates 95, 395 and 495 converge, is intended to reduce accidents caused by last minute merging.
The ramp will open at about 5 a.m. on Thursday morning, the post said.
