Navistar International trucks are now, once and for all, simply “International” trucks.

In a statement dated Feb. 22, John R. Horne, chairman of Navistar International Corp., announced that the name of the operating company is now International Truck and Engine Corp., not Navistar International Transportation Corp, as it has been known for the past 14 years.

Navistar International Corp. will remain as the name of the holding company, but virtually all of its employees will be a part of the International Truck and Engine Corp.

Representatives of the company have been emphasizing the International brand name for more than a year, seeking to identify current products with the reputation of machinery produced in the early part of the century under the International Harvester name.
