increased pay for drivers in its glass over-the-road driving division, the company announced June 2.
These drivers will see a 2 cents- to 7 cents-per-mile increase depending upon tenure and experience. This also brings starting pay for student glass drivers to 62 cents per mile. The starting salary for new drivers is now expected to average between $70,000 and $85,000 in the first year. The increase went into effect June 1.
“Our drivers are essential to both our company and the nation’s economy,” said Brad Vaughn, vice president of recruiting. “We are pleased to increase their pay to recognize their hard work and dedication on the road. We deeply value their commitment and are proud to support them in every way we can.”
Maverick stressed in the announcement the importance of investing in its drivers. Drivers receive a pay package that includes performance-based bonuses, paid pre-employment evaluation, flexible home time options and a comprehensive benefits plan.
The company also provides vacation and holiday pay, an employee support program, a referral program, driver recognition programs and opportunities for career growth.
