Lundberg: Gasoline Prices Reach Another Record High
etail gas prices hit another record high over the past two weeks and could rise even higher, according to the latest Lundberg survey issued Sunday.
The average price for all three grades rose nearly 13 cents to $2.65 in the two weeks ending Aug. 26, said Trilby Lundberg, who publishes the semimonthly Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations around the country.
Self-serve regular averaged $2.65 a gallon nationwide, midgrade averaged $2.72 and premium averaged $2.82.
The survey’s highest price for unleaded regular grade gasoline was in Chicago, at $2.84 a gallon. The cheapest was in New Orleans, at $2.45 a gallon.
