Landstar’s 2Q Income, Revenue Reach Records

ruckload carrier Landstar System Thursday reported record second-quarter net income of $29.5 million or 50 cents a share, up from $22.4 million or 37 cents a year earlier.

Revenue rose 19% to a record $643 million, the company said.

andstar’s carrier group of companies generated $468 million in revenue, up from $412 million in the previous second quarter.

The company’s global logistics group generated $167 million in revenue, up from $119 million a year earlier.

andstar is ranked No. 14 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
