“It’s been a great run,”��Runk, 70,��told Transport Topics. “I’ve enjoyed being in the industry all these years. [But] a lot of the guys I’ve worked with for years in TAEC [Trucking Association Executives Council] and at PennDOT and other state agencies that we work with have retired. I’m going to miss the relationships I’ve made all over the country. I think it’s time to get somebody younger who wants to commit the time.”����

Runk, who began working for PMTA in October 1972 and moved to his current role in 1991, said he’s especially proud to have helped prevent Pennsylvania from adding tolls to Route 80. Runk said that the association’s membership has held pretty steady at��about 1,500.
