Supply chain technology firm Intermec Inc. said it will acquire Vocollect Inc., a warehouse technology firm focused on voice-enabled products.
“Vocollect will broaden Intermec’s applications and solution offerings in the warehouse workflow and help to establish a leading position in software-oriented solutions,” Intermec said in a statement.
Vocollect is privately held by Riverside Partners. The companies agreed on a $190 million all-cash transaction for the acquisition.
Vocollect has more than 1,500 customers and 300,000 users. It will become a subsidiary of Intermec when the deal closes in the first quarter of this year.
Intermec expects Vocollect’s 2010 revenue to be about $120 million. The deal will add double-digit revenue growth to Intermec, it said.
