om Sharp, the commissioner of Indiana’s state Department of Transportation, on Thursday resigned his position, the Associated Press reported.

Sharp has been the state’s transportation commissioner since January 2005 and helped develop Gov. Mitch Daniels’ (R) Major Moves program, a ten-year transportation investment plan that includes the lease of the Indiana Toll Road, AP said.

Sharp will serve through the end of November, at which time he will be replaced as commission by Karl Browning, currently chief information officer of Indiana’s Office of Technology.
