I-70 Reopens in Colorado Following Storm
he Colorado Department of Transportation reopened Interstate 70 early Tuesday morning between Denver and the Kansas state line following a huge snow storm that had led authorities to close the road Monday, the Associated Press reported.
Many trees snapped under the weight of the snow and in some instances dropped onto power lines, leaving as many as 100,000 customers without power Monday and early Tuesday, AP said, citing local utilities.
More than 60 people took refuge in Red Cross shelters in the state, while crews de-iced the highways, AP said.
