Hub Group said its first-quarter income jumped 30% on higher intermodal and logistics revenue.
Net income rose to $13.7 million, or 37 cents per share, from $10.5 million, or 28 cents a share, a year ago, the company said late Thursday.
Revenue climbed to $739.9 million, from $485.4 million.
Intermodal revenue increased 20% to $404 million, led by a 15% volume increase. Truck brokerage revenue declined 6% to $80 million, while its Unyson Logistics unit’s revenue climbed 23% to $79 million. The company’s Mode Transportation segment generated $187 million in revenue for the quarter.
