.S. regular gasoline pump prices rose 10 cents from Sept. 26 through Sunday to an average of $2.91 a gallon, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her semimonthly Lunbderg Survey of filling stations.

The increase reflects disruptions to U.S. refinery output from Hurricane Rita, which struck the Texas-Louisiana border on Sept. 24, Lundberg told Bloomberg.

Prices had fallen during the previous two weeks as supplies recovered from Hurricane Katrina, which made landfall on Aug. 29.

Self-serve regular averaged $2.91 a gallon nationwide. The price for midgrade was $3.01, while premium-grade hit $3.11, Lundberg said.

The highest price for self-serve regular gasoline was in Honolulu at $3.38 a gallon. The lowest was in Anchorage, Alaska, at $2.65.

Because of the Columbus Day federal holiday Monday, the Energy Department will release its weekly survey Tuesday this week.
