Gasoline Jumps 19¢ to $3.76, Lundberg Says
Diesel Tops $4 a Gallon Nationwide
Gasoline’s national average jumped 19 cents in the past three weeks to an average $3.76 per gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.
Mid- and premium-grade gasoline also rose 19 cents each, to $3.90, and $4.01 per gallon, respectively.
Diesel’s average rose 11 cents to $4.09 per gallon, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly report.
Tucson, Ariz., had the lowest gas average among cities surveyed, at $3.41, while San Francisco had the highest, at $4.13.
Oil spiked $2.49 on Friday to finish the week at $112.79 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, a more than two-and-a-half year high, Bloomberg reported.
The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
