rozen Food Express Industries said late Monday its third-quarter profit rose 41.4% to $5 million or 26 cents a share, from $3.5 million or 20 cents a year earlier.

The truckload carrier’s revenue rose 11.7% to $137.5 million, including fuel surcharges, which were $18.7 million, compared with $8 million a year earlier.

FFE’s operating income rose 83.2% to $8.9 million, it said in a statement.

Our strong performance in 2005's third quarter reflected the continued favorable pricing environment and effective management of our fuel surcharge programs allowing us to offset dramatic increases in fuel costs,” Chief Executive Officer Stoney Stubbs said.
