Freightliner Rolls Out New Truck, Engines
AS VEGAS — Freightliner Trucks last week unveiled a new look for one of its most popular heavy-duty truck models, introduced two new Mercedes-Benz diesel engines and announced the availability of a German-made automated gear shift transmission for its line of medium-duty trucks in North America.
Freightliner officials announced their product launch at a meeting of the company’s dealers here Sept. 16.
The company said the timing for it coincides with signs that the U.S. economy is recovering and trucking companies are regaining their financial footing after absorbing major cost increases for fuel and insurance in recent years.
