Forward Air’s Third-Quarter Profit, Revenue Increase

orward Air Corp., a contractor to the air cargo industry, said late Monday its third-quarter net income increased 5% to $12.7 million or 41 cents a share, up from $12.1 million or 38 cents in 2005.

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/forwardair.gif" width=150 align=right>Operating revenue rose 6.6% to $90.4 million, Forward Air said in a release.

In September, Forward Air launched its Forward Air Complete service which combines the carrier’s expedited ground services with local pick up and delivery services. (Click here for previous coverage.)

Forward Air Corp. is ranked No. 72 on the 2006 Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
