The Federal Highway Administration has expanded the hours of its toll-free hot line for reporting violations of federal motor carrier safety regulations.The line (1-888-DOT-SAFT) is now being answered between 6:00 a.m. and midnight EST throughout the week.At other times, drivers may leave a number where they can be reached or download a safety violation reporting form from the agency’s Web page at .The hot line was mandated in the 1998 highway funding bill and went into operation in the fall of 1998.
