| Staff ReporterThe projects were identified as the New Jersey Roadway/Intermodal Connector, which will service the Newark/Elizabeth Seaport and Airport, and the Texas Loop, a 13.2 mile project, in Dallas. Both have substantial environmental considerations.
The New Jersey project encompasses multiple environmental issues including the removal of marine and hazardous wastes. When completed, the project will provide a “freight way” on both public and private rights of way that will facilitate the movement of goods within and external to the port area, said AASHTO.
