xisting home sales rose for the first time in eight months, increasing 0.5% in October, the National Association of Realtors said Tuesday.
The level rose to a 6.24 million annual rate in October, NAR said.
Economists had expected the rate to fall to 6.14 million units from September’s initially reported level of 6.18 million, Bloomberg reported.
Existing home sales account for 85% of the residential real estate market in the United States. When a home is sold, trucks are usually used to transport household appliances and furniture.
