EPA Sets Meeting on Anti-Idling Laws
Trucking to Help Develop Local Mode
he Environmental Protection Agency said representatives from trucking companies and associations would meet with state and local environmental agencies May 6 in Baltimore for the first in a series of meetings to develop a model idling law governing heavy-duty trucks and buses.
“States and municipalities could use the model as they propose new laws, or use the information to try to secure change in existing laws,” said Glen Kedzie, American Trucking Associations assistant general and environmental counsel. “It would help by providing some level of national consistency.”
