Daniel Elliott III, chairman of the Surface Transportation Board, will be nominated by President Obama to serve another term as a member of the rail freight regulatory agency.
If Elliott is confirmed, he would be able to serve another five years. He first was nominated and confirmed to head the three-member board in 2009. Though his initial term expired in 2013, he has been serving this year on a holdover basis.
The White House also said that Walter Barrows was again nominated to serve on the Railroad Retirement Board, which provides pension benefits for workers in that industry.
