ogistics and delivery firm Dynamex Inc. reported net income of $2.7 million or 24 cents a share for its second fiscal quarter ended Jan. 31, compared with $2.6 million or 22 cents a year earlier.

Sales rose 9.8% to $86 million for the quarter, the company said late Wednesday.

Dynamex said it expects its year-over-year core sales growth rate to be 5% to 7% for the third and fourth fiscal quarters and that its net income for 2006 will range from $1 to $1.10 per share. That’s down from a previously forecast $1.05 to $1.15 per share.

Dynamex, which provides same-day delivery services in the U.S. and Canada, is ranked No. 71 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
