Drivers Set to Begin Competition in Tampa
Winners of state championship truck driving contests, each seeking to prove that he or she is the safest, most capable and most conscientious driver in his or her respective equipment categories, are soon to converge on Tampa, Fla., for the 68th annual National Truck Driving Championships, Aug. 16-20."I'm getting more and more excited just thinking about going," said Greg Nordin, 31, a first-time competitor in the tanker class division.Nordin, who normally drives twins for FedEx Freight out of Minneapolis, learned to drive tankers four months ago - on his own time.
