Descartes Systems Group said it has acquired Computer Management USA, which provides security information filing services, for $6.6 million to broaden the buyer’s offerings.
Descartes, based in Waterloo, Ontario, said the move broadens its software as a service offering for logistics customers.
The acquisition was made as air cargo service providers cope with changing regulatory requirements around the world.
John Lamberti, CEO at Computer Management, said in a statement that his company “strengthens Descartes’ Customs and Regulatory Compliance platform with additional airline-focused functionality while adding a community of hundreds of ground handlers and container freight stations.”
