Cross-Border Trucking Program Going to Court

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia has agreed to hear oral arguments in DecemberÌýfrom a pair of federal lawsuits challenging the U.S.-Mexico cross-border pilot trucking program.

The two lawsuits filed last year, one by theÌýOwner-OperatorÌýIndependentÌýDrivers Association and the , allege that the program allowing Mexican carriers into the United States does not comply with U.S. federal safety laws and regulations.

So far, the program has not met expectations, being granted operating authority to participate in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s program.
