.S. consumer sentiment rebounded this month from a 13-year low level in October, according to the University of Michigan's monthly consumer sentiment index released Thursday.
The index jumped to 79.9 from a 74.2 reading in October.
etailers were predicting a pick up in retail sales going into the year-end holiday season, Bloomberg reported.
The preliminary November reading topped economists’ estimate of a 76.5 reading, Bloomberg said.
The university will release a final consumer index for November in two weeks.
