AMPA, Fla. — ChevronTexaco Inc. said new refining methods that turn natural gas into a no-sulfur diesel could lower the price of trucking’s primary fuel.
The new process, known as gas-to-liquid, or GTL, “gives us all types of flexibility to help the trucking industry with emissions and costs,” said Mark Nelson, president of ChevronTexaco’s global lubricants business.
“We think we will have something that is essentially sulfur-free. If there is enough of it, and I think there will be, it will be a big change for the positive,” Nelson said.
