[Stay on top of transportation news: .]
A new tool from tracks when shippers are searching for freight capacity or browsing competitors, giving logistics firms a view into buyer behavior as it happens.
Launched June 10, the Shipper Intent Data platform marks a shift for CarrierSource, best known for its database of verified carrier reviews and FMCSA compliance data. The product offers real-time alerts when shippers are evaluating logistics providers, enabling freight brokers and carriers to time their outreach more precisely.
“With Shipper Intent Data, brokers and carriers can see that interest as it happens and turn that demand into revenue before their competitors even know it exists,” said Rob Light, CEO and co-founder of the Chicago-based company.
CarrierSource hosts more than 75,000 reviews across 40,000 logistics companies and has sought to build a reputation for transparency in an industry in which trust and performance are hard to verify. The company is extending that approach to the sales process, offering data that can help logistics providers act on prospect intent when it surfaces.

To support adoption, CarrierSource has hired Kevin Hill, founder of CarrierLists and , to lead sales. Hill brings more than a decade of industry experience in freight analytics.
“When I saw the Shipper Intent Data CarrierSource is creating, I was stunned,” Hill said. “Seeing where and how shippers are actively searching for capacity gives you unmatched intel into their needs.”
The platform captures signals such as shipper profile views, or lanes, and competitor engagement. Logistics teams can use this data to prioritize outreach and tailor pitches to match demand trends.
