Cargo Chief Introduces Platform to Help Shippers Find Hauling Capacity

Cargo Chief has launched a technology platform designed to connect shippers with hard-to-find truck capacity.

The platform enables shippers to locate hauling capacity from Cargo Chiefs network of 500,000 trucks through a carrier search at , the company said.

Our technology and network enables us to find capacity for loads that most brokers either cant or wont source, Russell Jones,泭Cargo Chief's president and co-founder, said in a statement.

Cargo Chief, based in Mountain View, California, said its patented technology identifies the optimal carrier for a specific load.

The platform, initially launched last year, pinpoints capacity opportunities for truckload, less-than-truckload, flatbed, intermodal and refrigerated freight.

Cargo Chief will work with fleets of all sizes, but the company targets small and mid-size carriers that are harder to locate, Abtin Hamidi, vice president and co-founder, told Transport Topics.

Its all about providing secret capacity that our shippers just dont have the ability to find right now, he said.

When booking a load, shippers also can request a free load-tracking service via smartphone or computer.

Before finalizing a shipment, Cargo Chief automatically verifies the drivers safety rating authority status and confirms the carriers cargo and automotive insurance, the company said.
