Bridgestone Firestone Plans Tire Price Increases
iting increased raw materials costs, Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire and Bridgestone Firestone Canada said they would be raising prices on the companies’ Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton and private brand tire lines.
The increases of up to 8% will take effect beginning Nov. 1. They will affect passenger and light truck, heavy truck and bus, and agricultural and off-road tires, the company said.
“The astronomical increases in petroleum prices are driving up the cost of synthetic rubber and carbon black,” Duke Nishiyama, president of Bridgestone Americas Holding.
