ATA Plans to Restore Intermodal Conference, Tap New Members

| Staff ReportersAN ANTONIO — American Trucking Associations’ board of directors decided to reconstitute its intermodal conference in an effort to tap the membership potential of an industry sector that is expected to quadruple within 20 years.
“This segment of the industry has great membership potential,” said Greg Owen, head of Ability Tri-Modal Distribution.
Intermodal, or drayage, carriers generally haul freight short distances to and from port terminals, rail sidings and air-cargo facilities.
