ruckload carrier Schneider National said late Wednesday that Scott Arves, its president of transportation, resigned after more than 27 years with the company.
Separately, Tom Nightingale, Schneider's vice president of corporate communications, also resigned, a company spokeswoman told Transport Topics Thursday.
Arves, 50, oversaw the carrier's truckload and intermodal units. He will consult for Schneider for few months but has no other job lined up, the spokeswoman told TT.
Schneider said in a statement that Arves “resigned to pursue a new phase in his career.”
Mark Rourke, general manager of transportation management, will become president of the truckload division. Bill Matheson, general manager of intermodal, will become president of that division.
Privately held Schneider is the largest U.S. truckload carrier and is ranked No. 9 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
