Arkansas Group Bucks Trend, Wants ‘Black Boxes’

The Department of Transportation’s proposal for revising hours-of-service regulations includes use of electronic recorders to replace handwritten logbooks for long-haul and regional truck drivers.
Most trucking response to the mandate has been negative. The Arkansas endorsement bucks that trend and comes from a group that includes J.B. Hunt Transport, Arkansas Best Corp., Wal-Mart Stores and other heavy hitters of the industry.
