Ahold to Sell U.S. Foodservice
utch supermarket operator Royal Ahold NV announced it will sell U.S. Foodservice, its American food and food-service product delivery unit.
Divesting U.S. Foodservice is part of Ahold’s plan to refocus its efforts on its core retail business, the company said Sunday in a statement.
U.S. Foodservice delivers food and related products to cafeterias, schools, restaurants, hospitals, hotels and other facilities throughout the United States.
Ahold USA is ranked No. 3 on the Transport Topics 100 list of U.S. and Canadian private carriers.
