After 14 Years, CDL Program Gets an Overhaul

| Staff ReporterThe changes include authority to suspend a truck driver’s CDL for offenses committed in a passenger vehicle, reform of the medical examination process, improvements in state records and new powers for the federal government over trucker licensing.
These changes were ordered in the 1999 law that also created the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
